We're back with the #RadicalRundown!
In this episode, Brunswick Core Engineer Bryan Buckosh will talk about the very unique symmetrical core found in the Bigfoot. He will compare it to a Payback core and introduce you to the core terminology Axial Symmetry and Mirror Symmetry.
As always, if you have questions or comments, leave them below!

So the drilling angle can matter on a symmetrical core? Depending on what kind of symmetry the core has?
in a way! the cg location itself does not matter in terms of affecting the dynamic properties of the ball, but we can use it as a marker to orient the core, and the core position does matter in this case!

Thank you for providing this info. This was very educational.
Does this mean that if a two hander got a big foot and drilled it let’s say short pin, it would stay symmetrical? I’m looking for a new pearl sym as a two handed righty so I’m curious
for short-pin layouts, and layouts that put the fingers in the area of the pin for no-thumb bowlers, this will act like a standard sym core. if you have a tall-pin layout that puts the fingers near the knob (moment arm), then you can achieve more asymmetry than normal.
It would be great to see on different patterns the effect of the Bigfoot layouts that were talked about.
CG’s matter again! I’m gonna have to get one of these.

cool
Excellent video on this topic. Too many other channels skip this entirely.
How do you know for sure where the moment arm is oriented inside of the ball after the coverstock has been poured without a mass bias pin indicating core orientation?
the core is designed so the front of the knob will be 6.75″ from the pin on the line through the pin and cg. we can’t mark a PSA because undrilled this core is symmetric.
I’m wondering why the moment arm location is not marked on the Bigfoot. It should be if the drilling angle is a factor in the ball motion.

So if we drill the “deep thumbhole” technique, we can “blow up” the differential even more by drilling into the moment arm?
Great vid, Brian!
How is the core affected for no thumbers who are unlikely to drill through the moment arm?
